Structural Features: Flange Plate: Usually circular, its diameter is determined according to the size of the connected pipeline. There are several bolt holes evenly distributed on it, which are used to install bolts to achieve a firm connection. Sealing Surface: The common forms of sealing surfaces are Flat Face (FF) and Raised Face (RF). The flat face sealing surface has a simple structure and is easy to machine, but its sealing performance is relatively weak. It is suitable for working conditions with low pressure and non-toxic and harmless media. The raised face sealing surface adds a boss on the basis of the flat face, and its sealing performance is better. It is suitable for medium and low pressure working conditions. Welding Groove: The welding end is usually designed with a welding groove. Its form and size vary according to the welding method and the material of the pipeline. Commonly seen ones include V-shaped, U-shaped, etc., to ensure the welding quality. Material Selection: Commonly selected materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc. There are also materials such as 201, 304, 316, 316L, 0Cr18Ni9, 321, 202, 20#, 20G, etc., which can be selected according to specific usage environments and requirements. Size Specifications: The nominal pressure ranges from 0.25MPa to 42.0MPa. Among them, the flange sizes of six grades, namely PN0.25, PN0.6, PN1.0, PN1.6, PN2.5, and PN4.0, belong to the European flange system represented by German flanges, and the rest belong to the American flange system represented by American flanges. Application Scope: It is widely used in various pipeline systems such as water supply and drainage, petrochemical industry, thermal power, and gas, as well as in the connection of equipment such as pumps, valves, and pressure vessels. It is particularly commonly used in pipeline connections with low pressure and non-toxic media. Advantages and Disadvantages: Advantages: The manufacturing process is relatively simple, with less consumption of raw materials and lower cost. The structure is simple, and no complex tools or equipment are required during the installation process, resulting in a fast installation speed. It has a wide application range and can meet the connection requirements of most pipeline systems and equipment. It is easy to maintain. When problems such as leakage occur, it is convenient to disassemble and repair, with a low maintenance cost. Disadvantages: Its structural features make its bearing capacity relatively low, and it is not suitable for pipeline connections under high pressure, high temperature, and harsh working conditions. Compared with butt-welding flanges, socket-welding flanges, etc., its sealing performance is relatively weak, and leakage problems are likely to occur.
