Aluminum is a silver-white light metal with ductility. It can form an anti-corrosion oxide film in a humid atmosphere. Aluminum powder and aluminum foil can burn violently when heated. It is easily soluble in solutions such as dilute sulfuric acid, but insoluble in water. Its relative density is 2.70, the melting point is 660ºC, and the boiling point is 2327ºC.

It includes hot forging (forging above the metal recrystallization temperature), warm forging (forging above room temperature but below the recrystallization temperature), cold forging (forging at room temperature), etc. It is also classified into die forging (using a die to deform the blank), open-die forging, closed-die forging and other methods. These processes can improve the properties of the metal structure and enhance the strength and precision of the flanges.
